I'm co-presenting to the Orange County Java User
Group tonight. The title is 'Developing Web Applications with the Tapestry
Framework'. We'll be using Tapestry 3 for the presentation so we can show the
tools like Spindle
and the Palette
while promoting the upcoming Tapestry 4
release.
The presentation will cover a
complete, if somewhat lightweight, application we will use to introduce the
benefits of developing in Tapestry. The application includes a component library
containing components to integrate Google Maps into a Tapestry
application.
The archive:
ocjug.zip contains several Eclipse projects,
including a set of dummy service/dao/model classes which provide model data for
the application. The Google Maps component is used inside the Meetings page and
requires a Google Maps API key to work. You should be able to add these projects
to Eclipse and run the examples if you have Spindle and JettyLauncher
installed.
The slides cover the
material we're presenting and give links to Tapestry information sites but we
expect the presentation to be more demonstration than just talking around the
